Biggest Challenge: that it was true and most of all proud to be an Omega
Man
Impact on Campus: When our line was being chased by the Big Brothers
and my LB #2 the late Dr. Clarence Bibby fell and
broke his nose. It was hilarious!!!
After receiving the Charter we gave major concerts on
the campus( Kool and the Gang, Lonnie Liston Smith,
Bobbi Humphries) All bothers were on the Deans list....
We faced a hostile administration that was not ready
for a predominately black fraternity to be on the
campus. After garnering support from various
organizations and several meetings with the
monsignor, Omega Psi Phi was established as the first
black fraternal organization on the predominately
white campus of Seton Hall.
It gave the campus a real sense of diversity and
awareness. The white students and many blacks had
never seen stepping, singing and chants of fraternity
love. This inspired other black Greek organizations to
establish chapters as well. The administration was
impressed with our commitment to scholarship and our
community outreach.
