Why I pledged: I wanted to part of an organization that was respected
on campus and was known to be active in the Black
My going over night: community.
Funniest Moment: I also observed closely the pledgee of the other greek
Chapter Achievement: organization on campus Alpha Phi Alpha. He appeared
Biggest Challenge: to enjoy his on-line pledge experience because I always
Impact on Campus: saw him smiling or laughing. In contrast, I NEVER saw
the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity pledgees smiling. In fact,
they appeared to be enduring hardship, even pain. I
wanted to challenge myself to endure whatever was
necessary to be a part of the Omegas.
I remember brothers taking us to parties on a few
different campus where we were on display for the
women to see
I don't remember any funny moments. Everything
seemed serious for eight weeks
We were able to accomplish many community projects
and provide entertainment for SHU students through
concerts by the hottest musical artist of that time
Can't recall any challeges
During my time Omega were the most respected men,
black, white or latino on campus. It was how we
presented ourselves on and off SHU's campus. We had
brothers reflecting a variety of personalities from
intellectual, funny, cool, street.
