student and school administration. The spring semester was coming to a close
and now KH had 4 four brothers (Bibby, Harrison, Hollis and Gunter) on the yard.
Always close by was Big Daddy Slick (Curtis Caldwell) to provide moral support.
The other key component of Brother Graham’s tutelage was to share with
Brother Gunter was KH’s secret formula for throwing the best college parties.
The founders of KH had established a business relationship with the Muslim
twins who were known for their extensive marketing and security capabilities.
The Muslim twins would promote the dances and provide security at the event
for a 50/50 split of the door. This business relationship allowed KH to flourish
and establish Omega Psi Phi Fraternity KH Chapter as the dominant fraternity
and Omega chapter in the northeast.
That next Fall the brothers got busy with recruiting the next line and established
a line of three lampados, Brian Williams, Lyndon Stockton and Rob Williams.
This line was a big line (size and weight) and consisted of two lamps from other
campuses. Brother Bibby was still around to support the young brothers and he
even got each of the brothers at the house that he managed consisting of
mentally challenged adults. The brothers not only were learning to work with
these adults but they were growing as men.
On campus, the Basileus Darrell Gunter was putting in place Brother’s Graham’s
political plan as he was selected to serve on the Boland Hall Judicial Review
Board and meeting with the local student leaders from the Resident Student
Association and Student Government Association and Student Activities Board.
Omega’s influence on the Seton Hall Campus was expanding into all areas.
The fall line of 1978 was a huge success and the lone Seton Hall brother Brian
Williams was also getting politically involved. Brother Hollis had established
himself as solid contributor and enforcer as the local community knew not to
mess with the KH brothers of Omega.
The chapter continued to grow and flourish as they prepared for the next line in
the fall of 1979, Diligent Four. Martin Whitaker, Leslie Hinton, Eric Mayo and
Tyrone Dunlap lead by their dean Doug Hollis crossed the burning sands and
now KH was rocking with eleven brothers after Tyrone Haywood joined our
chapter after crossing at another chapter.
The brothers of KH were now involved in the campus politics and district politics
as Darrell Gunter was elected as one of three undergraduate intermediate
representative for the 2nd District. He joined Brother Harrison in the athletic
department as he won a starting position on the foil fencing team for Seton Hall.
